Zaharah felt her throat was extremely dry and her head was heavy. She opens her eyes and find that she was lying on a hospital bed. A needle canulla plug was inserted in her right hand with a saline liquid attach to it. Zaharah was lost and in daze as she struggles to recall what had happen. Suddenly just like a thump on her head the horrifying incident came flashing back into her mind.
"Adam." cried Zaharah as she struggles to get off from the bed.
"Zaharah, I'm here." she felt so relieve when she heard that familiar voice. She turn to her right side and saw Adam was with her all this time. She sat on the bed and without hesitation she embrace him cause the thought of losing him will just killed her. Adam was relieve seeing that Zaharah has waken from her unconcious state and hold her with all his might. And the thought of losing her just like that is a real torment. In his heart Adam swears he will never rest until he get hold on to the culprit.
"Our shop! Your paintings." cried Zaharah frantically and Adam knew Zaharah was horribly traumatised with all this incident.
"It's okay. It does not matter to me. I just want you to be safe." replied Adam carressing her hair. There was a small bandange pad across her forehead due to the impact of the wall. "I want you to rest alright."
"Don't leave me." plead Zaharah and then she begins to fall alseep again due to the heavy sedation from the saline liquid.
"I will never leave you. I promised." utter Adam as he stays by her bedside. Thankfully on that disaster night the town people had came by to help. Adam too can't really recall that much as he slips into sub-conscious state. All he could remember is the screaming and shouting of voices and then he felt like he was being drag somewhere away from the fire. He had few burn marks on his arms but he don't give a damn about that cause all he cares about is Zaharah. Adam felt that someone is trying to harm them and then Zaki came into his mind. Adam tries to brush off that acussation but deep in his thoughts he can't figure out anybody else.
Just then someone came into their room and it was Ana followed by Zaki walking right behind her. Ana rushed towards Adam and hug him in between her tears. While holding on to his mother Adam looks at Zaki who was smilling coyly towards him. Adam let go of Ana and begins to attack Zaki. Grabbing his collar shirt shouting," I knew it..it was you. You plan all this. If anything happens to Zaharah I swear to God I will kill you." Then without thinking ahead he threw a punch across Zaki's face. Ana wails telling him to stop but Adam was not going to let Zaki off that easily. He continues to punch and kick him in his stomach until some securities personel steps in to calm Adam down. Ana was crying bitterly and coax Adam to stay calm. Eventually Adam's anger subdue when he saw Zaharah's pale face sleeping away due to the heavy dose of drugs.
"Zaki, please leave us." cried Ana telling Zaki to go. Zaki was groaning in pain but he managed to stand. With a smirk on his face he left the room. Adam walks back towards Zaharah's bedside and sat beside her. He looks cold and some darkness begins to set across his face. Ana was alarm by this sudden changes in Adam's behavior and she knew Adam can be quite aggressive. Ana call his name several times but he remains silent still looking intensely towards Zaharah. Ana came closer towards Zaharah and touches her head. Then she sat beside her in silence as Adam refused to utter a single word. The room becomes remote and they can almost hear the clock ticking on the white wall across them.
"You should rest too Adam." said Ana as she tries to console Adam.
"I can't ma. I tried but i can't. I should protect her but I've failed." replied Adam still staring towards Zaharah.
"Zaharah. She's a strong women. Trust me." continue Ana.
Adam was surprised with his mother's respond and he gave a wondering look but before Ana was about to continue further, suddenly Zaharah begins to stir and becomes restless. In alarm Adam stood up and carress her head to calm her down.
"No!" cried Zaharah as she was having the same recurrence nightmare about the attack. She wakes up and find herself soak with her own sweat. Adam hold on to her hand and then she saw Ana was there too.
"Ma.." greet Zaharah as she sat on her bed. Ana walk towards Zaharah and embrace her. Ana was glad that Zaharah had woken up from her long sleeps.
"When did you arrive? And how's pa?" asked Zaharah looking concerned towards Ana.
"This morning. Don't worry about pa now alright? He's doing just fine." exclaimed Ana however that was not the truth as Zayeed's condition has deteriorate. Zayeed had slip into a coma and can never wakes up again. Adam knew about his father's condition but he smile faintly towards Zaharah as he does not want her too get worried due to her own condition. Zaharah turn to face Adam and caress his cheeks. In her thoughts she was more determined to stood by Adam's side no matter what happens. She must overcome all this nightmare and trauma. She must inject in a new spirit and courage in her heart, so that she can becomes a stronger person. Zaharah secretly had planted a scheme and sets her mind to pin the person who had decides to cross her line. Losing Izaldeen is enough for her but to lose Adam is just too much for her to overcome. Deep in her thoughts...she knew it was Zaki who had plan all this mishap.
Just then the doctor came in and begins examining Zaharah's condition.
"Thank God. There's nothing serious.. just few bruises. The head scan shows that she has no internal injuries. It was only superficial. So she can be discharged by this evening." Adam felt relieve after hearing those words from the doctor. It seems that she has been in the hospital for quite a number of days cause everything she sees right now was so different or maybe it is due to her medication.
Upon reaching their home suddenly Zaharah remembers Aden which Adam had let Ameena to babysit him for couple of days. Ana knew all about that earlier incident and decides not to mention anything about it at this point of time. But she was surprised when she saw the way Zaharah cares and love so much for that child. Zaharah held Aden in her arms kissing his cheeks and his nose. Aden sure misses her too as he held on to Zaharah folding his arms across her neck not wanting to let go.
"Zaharah give Aden to me. You go and rest okay." said Adam as he reaches out his hands to hold Aden.
"Not to worry Adam. I'll be fine." replied Zaharah as she continues playing with Aden. Adam insists however Ana held his hands and gesture him not to. Zaharah carries Aden back into their room while Adam stood outside. Adam felt worried towards Zaharah changes as he felt sure she was just not being herself. Ana came towards Adam and told him to leave Zaharah alone for a while.
"Let her breath. She just being through alot." said Ana as she stood by his side. Still looking at Zaharah with concern and worries on his face but then he realised his mother was right. Maybe he should leave Zaharah alone for a moment.
"I thought I won't be able to see you again." smile Zaharah towards Aden who begins to chuckle playing with her hair. "No matter who you really are, I will always love you just like my own son. I will make sure you will be good person in this world. Someone trustworthy, honest and kind just like Adam." Then Zaharah thought to herself what if he is Zaki's son will she be able to accept him. She decides not to think about it too much and continue playing with Aden.
Aden soon falls asleep followed by Zaharah who still feel kind of drowsy due to the painkiller which she had to take that morning before she was discharged.
Ana decides to leave as she needs to check on Zayeed. Adam wanted to wakes Zaharah but Ana stopped him telling him not to as she needs a lot of rest. Adam nodded and sent her to the door. He walks with her towards her car.
"Be strong Adam. She needs you." said his mum tapping his cheeks. Adam nodded and smile faintly. He remains on the front yard until the car was out of his sight. Adam walk backs towards their home and decides to check on Zaharah and Aden. As he walks back he look across the sky which was already heavy with clouds almost covering the sun rays. When he enters the room he was surprised as Zaharah was not around. Then he goes through the kitchen towards the verandah their favorite spot and saw Zaharah was sitting at the porch. Adam notice Zaharah was starring at the green hills lost in her own thoughts. Slowly he walks towards Zaharah and sat beside her.
"You know what I love most about our home..is this beautiful scenery." said Zaharah when she realised she was not alone.
"Yah..me too! When I choose this place to be our home, I did not even know we going to have this magnificent view to be our backyard." replied Adam and he held his hand towards Zaharah to hold hers. Zaharah turn to face Adam and then Adam realised that Zaharah has been crying.
"You know that I almost wanted to leave you but I can't." said Zaharah as Adam hold her close to his chest. Adam knew what she had meant and he can't blame her even if she decides to go.It will be his lost.
"But after that incident, the thought of losing you is killing me." continue Zaharah.
"Zaharah I swear nothing will befall us again." replied Adam. "Zaharah about Aden, I don't know how I'm going to say but I need to know if he's my son."
Zaharah was caught in surprised by Adam's words. "Does it matter to you?" ask Zaharah. Adam remains quiet as he was unsure how to answer to that. "But I guess you have the right to know." replied Zaharah. "However no matter what I will always stand by your side. Whatever happen in the past is already done and can never be undone anyway." Hearing those words from Zaharah is a breathtaking for Adam as he realised what his mother had said about her is all true. She is indeed a strong person.
"Welcome back Zaharah." teased Adam playfully pinching her nose. Zaharah smile and she realised that Adam is her new spirit and courage. The rain starts to fall blurring out the hill views from their sight and the raindrops has begins splasing towards them. They decides to went back into their home.
Few days later they went back to their shop which has been almost destroyed by the raging fire. The landlord was a nice gentlemen and offers alot of assistance in reconstruting the shop again. He even offers another empty shop for temporary usage so that they can continue with their sells. They were so grateful and trilled and accept the offer without second thoughts. Business goes back as per normal and it seems like a miracle that their sellings improve tremendously beyond their expectation. Ameena helps to babysit Aden while Adam and Zaharah attends the shop. Adam skills has simply evolved tremendously. He begins to explore and use different techniques in his art piece.
