“Such a wondrous and pleasurable moments been back here again, in this magnificent lab of ours.” State a voice in such dignify state of haughtiness. It was Ariel much to my dismay.
“Dad! What is the meaning of this? Why are you doing this to us?” I asked.
Ariel came closer towards me and in a split moment he grab my face with his hand, squeezing my cheeks roughly in between his fingers.
I whimper as I struggle to get his hands off from my face.
“You are a mistake. You shouldn’t be in our picture..” he cried and then he loosen his grip.
“Kill me then, if that what’s makes you feel so whole and superior again..” I challenge him.
“No sweetheart.. what kind of father would I be then if I were to kill my one and only blood line..” rant Ariel much to my disgust. “Let me recall back my past so I could elaborate to both of you what kind of lives me, Aaron and Maxim been leading, therefore both of you can judge who’s the wrongdoer ones.”
“Believe it or not we’ve been friends ever since high school. However of all the three of us, I’m indeed the special one. That means I’m the genius, I’m among the top student. Unlike them, the foundation ones. Despite all of my superior qualities, I was often outcast probably due to my hellish mental unstableness. Therefore I’m blessed with only Aaron and Maxim as my companion throughout our school and college days.”
“I know what my father did to you is unforgivable..punish me if that’s what will fulfill your vengeance, please leave Reem out of this. She doesn’t know and wasn’t involved in any part of it.” Pleads Ezra with such grimace mark of pain in his tone.
“Hush Ezra… I’m coming to that excited part but not too soon..” exclaimed Ariel followed by a mocking laughter.
“Me and Aaron had actually got the oracle structure of an antidote, the cure to be precise. Our ultimate intention was of course to heal the sick, name any viruses or diseases, our antidote just might give them hope to live on.” Continues Ariel and then he paused. The sadness of dismay was seen faintly on his face. “However, Maxim’s greed seems to over rule our main objective.”
“Unknowingly he’s been harvesting his own concoction without our knowledge. And as per normal and also due to my mental health issue, I was used as their lab rat, taking in whatever doses of potions jab inside my vein. Hmmm the extreme satisfaction..for it does slowly healing my mind. I feel more at ease of myself. Until one day, Aaron in a haste of excitement had accidentally jab me with Maxim’s rancid potion despite Maxim warning Aaron not too, but it was already too late..”
“And the consequences which I’m force to face and endure is killing me inside out. The throbbing pain on my head and the blood that runs through my veins becoming such a torturous notion breaking my soul. After figuring out his error, Both Aaron and Maxim had tried again and again to reverse back the horrific effects which I was force to endure. Tragically it was all in vain. My mental state becoming more unpredictable…I’m becoming more violent and my thought seems to be incoherent with my actions.”Exclaimed Ariel and then he stopped for a moment. “Aaron sent me off to the asylum…without my knowledge and my permission. And the reason, because they couldn’t find that perfect antidote to cure me. Aaron and Maxim have destroyed me, my life, my dreams..everything.”
“I served my time well there..concluding my chapter will end there, however only after several years had passed, Aaron came back bringing along his son Habil.”
“Such a fine looking boy he got..very well mannered, intelligent, and an astounding scientist…which strangely Aaron decided to hushed Habil’s exact profession.” Marked Ariel with a smirk. “Habil.. such a noble lad with a kind heart but too easily get fooled and manipulated. Unlike Ezra, despite his not too bright academically but he’s more wise and conscious choosing people surrounds him..”
“That’s why you drugged Habil?” I cried.
“Oh yes.. tsk tsk..by sucking the toffee which I kindly offered him, had definitely screwed his mind upside down..” mark Ariel with a shrewd smile.
“How could you?”
“Well the simplest reason is, I wanted to get rid of him, and from that time on, I had already knew, Habil and Ezra had eventually found the formula for the antidote. Hmmm, but he’s too determined to stay on with the love of his life. How lame and stupid he was. So I had no choice but to plan some tragic event. The robbery scene. Ohh.. too coincidence right?” Cried Ariel as he laughed in such hysterical manner.
“Despite all my torturous techniques and abused which I’ve used upon Ezra came to no dead end, that’s why you are needed here. And I do believe, you the widow of late Habil sure know a thing or two about that antidote.”
“Why is that so important to you?” I asked.
“To regain and retain back my name and glory, my wealth and my dignity..”
“Dignity? You are a sick man? You drugged Habil to hurt me.. and here you are talking about your dignity which in fact you have prejudice mine..” I roared tearfully.
“Ah!Ah!No drama..” he warned and in a split second he had came over to Ezra’s tank and switch on a button by the side of the tank which causes the green liquid to fumes in thin misty form.
Ezra screamed in agony much to my horror.
“This is just a small dose of that defective formula been slowly infuse inside Ezra’s skin.. I reassured you just the superficial part. Does this motivates you Reem?”
“Reem.. don’t give in to his request…for Habil’s sake, please don’t let him die in vain..” moan Ezra tearfully much to my despair.
Upon hearing those words, Ariel had seems to pushed on another button turning the mist into a thicker form.
Ezra whole body shake in such aggressive convulsions. His icy blue eyes had turned to darker ocean blue..his sharp features had turned into some kind of a demonic form.
In fear and anxiety I cried. “Alright father.. I will give you the formula..but you need to stop hurting Ezra..please.”
Immediately, he switched both buttons off and he slower amble to me and gently caress my cheeks. “That’s my girl..for good daughter follow orders. But I’m not a fool which you might think that I’m used to be. I believe you only know half of the antidote while Ezra got the other half.. therefore to complete the concoction both need to comply, seems Ezra not too willing to surrender his part, I need to improvise certain scores so he will finally talked.” Upon that Ariel laughed crudely with a menacing look mark on his face..
