Adam's Eye :Chapter Thirty.

A new beginning, a new life, a new chapter soon will slips into Zaharah's life. Within two months away, her marriage with Zaki will finally be soleminized. Most of the wedding necessary has been prepared, the wedding cards, catering services, clothing. However Zaharah leave all the decision making within Ana and Zaki and relunctant to get involved in it. "For my children' sake." thought Zaharah too herself. And also Zaharah felt that this marriage is the best for her children. Ana was right, her kids needs a father figure and Zaharah could not think of anybody else but Zaki as she saw so much love and tenderness which Zaki had given to her children..especially towards Aleeya who has become so close to him. Zaharah can't blame her cause..she doesn't even know how her father looks like but from photos and potraits.
"Zaki, I have decided to go back to my old home which Adam had rebuild if you don't mind." request Zaharah on one of the evening during their tea time.
"Let me come along with you." replied Zaki looking concerned towards Zaharah.
"It's okay..I just need to be alone there." said Zaharah sadly as she twist her wedding ring which Adam had given her around her finger. She was simply not ready to remove it from her finger and replace it with Zaki's engagement ring. Thankfully, Zaki understands cause he knew...Zaharah's love for Adam is everlasting and nothing can ever change that.
"Zaki, please forgive me..as you know I agrees to this marriage for our children's sake but nothing else..so if you want me to be your wife as a whole..I'm afraid I can't." utter Zaharah looking straight into Zaki's eyes.
"Zaharah, I understand how you felt about this marriage. I know I can never replace Adam from your heart...but I will tries to heal your shattered soul." utter Zaki. Zaharah nodded with a smile.
The next morning Zaharah had pack her belongings into her car as she decides to leave early back to her hometown. She went to Aden's and Aleeya's room and they were both still in their dreamworld. Zaharah kisses their forehead and then she left the room.
"Thanks Ma..for looking after them. I shall be back in few days time." said Zaharah as she held Ana's hand.
"It's okay Zaharah. You do take care alright. And drive carefully." said Ana lovingly. Zaki was beside her and worried look was written all over his face. He felt hard to let Zaharah go but then he knew she needs sometimes to be alone. Ana went towards her grandchildren's room to check on them leaving Zaki and Zaharah by the hallway. Zaharah reaches out her hand to touch Zaki's face and smile. "Come on...don't give me that kind of look. " exclaimed Zaharah with a smile. "I will be fine..trust me."
Zaki nodded and look straight into Zaharah's beautiful eyes. Zaharah quickly looks away as she headed towards the door. "Alright..I shall get going." cried Zaharah opening the door followed by Zaki behind her. Zaki stood by the gate until Zaharah's car was out from his sight.
The road was empty and kind of deserted with not much traffic on it. Zaharah drove on smoothly with full of thoughts in her mind. The trip along that very road which she had always have with Adam by her side. She felt as though he was with her..talking, laughing and this feelings had eventually drew a smile on Zaharah's lips. It was almost midnight when finally she had reached her destination. The place had really change so much after five years...Ameena has shifted to the town area and her home has been rented by some foreign college students. Aunty Laila had sold her shop and went back to India and decides not to come back again. Adam's Eye sadly has been closed. Zaharah park her car within the compound of her home. The house has been secretly rebuild by Adam before his eye surgery....before that tragic incident. Zaharah stood out side the house for a while and suddenly she felt empty. She took the house key..unlocking the door and slowly enter her home. After switching on the lights, she phase around the house. Zaki had eventually call in the house keeper services to maintained the house much to Zaharah's relieved. The layout of the house remains the same, however it was rebuild with brick walls with wooden flooring...Adam sure does know to play around with colours cause the feeling of it is so warm and cosy. Then Zaharah slowly opens the bedroom room and enter the room. The strong memories which she had with Adam begins to slip in deeper into her thoughts. The centipede incident which had eventually flickers the light of love between them. She recalls back the love which they both had..it was beautiful. Then Zaharah walks out of the room and went into Adam's working room. Her hands tremble as she turns the doorknob of that room...she turns on the light. The smell of Adam's works begins to linger in her soul..the fresh paint, the white canvas...it felt just like yesterday. His humour...his darlie grin...his intense eyes..keeps coming back into Zaharah's mind and tears begins to form in her eyes. She saw her potraits has been frame in a beautiful golden bronze glass frame and was hung neatly against the wall. And then something had caught her attention..their wedding potrait which stood beautifully against the wall...she walk slowly towards it. She runs her fingers on Adam's potrait..his face, eyes..nose and lips. And then she sat on the floor and stare at it for a long time as she begins to reminised back on their wedding day...it's the greatest Blessing of all..!
She must have doze off when suddenly her mobile phone rang and she woke up in a startle. It was Zaki who had call as he was worried that Zaharah did not call him once she had reach her home.
"I must have forgotten. How's the kids?" cried Zaharah as she rub her eyes and push her hair back from her eyes.
"They were already in bed. How are you?" asked Zaki with concerned in his tone.
"I'm fine...kiss my kids goodnight for me..and tell them I'll shall be back home soon." said Zaharah again.
"Alright I shall do that..how about me..don't you want to kiss me goodnight too." cried Zaki giggling away.
"Yah..right! Dream on..!" cried Zaharah with a smile. "Alright..here kiss on your cheeks..how's that?"
"Good enough!" replied Zaki. They talk for awhile before they hung up. Zaharah looks at her mobile clock..and it was already two in the morning. No wonder Zaki calls as she supposed to call him once she had reach her destination but she was already lost with Adam's spirit and forgotten all about it. Zaharah walks through the kitchen as she decides to make herself a cup of coffee. As she was stirring the cup of coffee, suddenly she felt the cold breeze gush gently from the verandah. "Adam." cried Zaharah softly. She walks towards the verandah and phase around the area. Zaharah shakes her head and smile. And then she took her coffee and sat on the porch as she gaze at the dark sky...with gentle breeze blew softly agaisnt her bare arms. She close her eyes as though she could feel that Adam was beside her...holding and kissing her hair and face.
Zaharah stays for another day and then the following day she decides to went back. After locking the front door, she stood outside the compound with tears in her eyes. And then she begins to wept bitterly as she knew...Adam has gone.
Upon reaching the other home, Zaki had waited patiently at the door with Aleeya in his arms.
"Mummy...!" greet Aleeya excitedly as she drew her arms wanting Zaharah to carry her.
"My baby doll.." cried Zaharah as she carry Aleeya in her arms and kiss her cheeks and lips. "Miss you so..much!" cried Zaharah again. Zaki smile upon seeing her and then he told her that Ana needs to be at the ophanage at a last minutes due to some task there.
"Where's Aden?" asked Zaharah as she look around the house for him.
"He's in his room. He refused to speak to me now...and has been acting cold lately." replied Zaki.
"I shall go and check on him. Aleeya let uncle carries you okay." said Zaharah and Aleeya comply to her mother's request. Zaharah climb up the stairs as she enters Aden's room. Zaharah saw Aden was busy fixing his toy cars...and arranging them neatly in a row. Aden knew Zaharah was beside him but he ignored her pretending that she was not around.
"Hey...young man...what's wrong?" asked Zaharah as she tossed his hair. Aden looks straight into Zaharah's eyes.
"How could you mum? How could you replace father with him?" yelled Aden with tears welling up in his hazel brown eyes. Zaharah was stunned by his remarks and then she felt guilty..Aden was unknown about this marriage..and of course this has definately upset him so much.
"I agree to this...because of you and Aleeya. Nobody could ever replace your father." replied Zaharah choking back her tears.
"But why him...he had kill my father..!" screamed Aden again.
"Aden..it was an accident..you have got to believe me. Please forgive me Aden..I know it must have been hard on you..but I thought you had always love Zaki just like your own father." cried Zaharah.
"He's not my father...Adam is my father." wailed Aden again as he turn his back against Zaharah. Zaharah really feels that Aden needs to know the truth about his real father..Zaki but then that will come another blow for this child.
"Aden, do you know how much I have been through...the pain which I had to bear after losing your father just like that...just like a blink of my eyes. Me marrying Zaki...got nothing to do with replacing your father...not at all. I do it for you...you need a father figure..to help you to grow and be a man of good virtures, compassionate and truthful...and I can see that in Zaki..he's just like Adam. Give him chance to make amends for his mistakes Aden..please." said Zaharah as she hold on to Aden's shoulder. Aden wipe the tears from his face and look at Zaharah.
"I'm so sorry mum..for my rudeness. I miss daddy so much..he's gone too soon..! I still remember him even though..I was only five..but I can never forget the times which I had spend with him." cried Aden.
"I know nothing could ever take that memories away from us...but we can build a new one..with Zaki." said Zaharah calmly. Aden nodded and smile. Zaharah held Aden in her arms and then she saw Zaki was standing by the door with tears in his eyes. "Thank you Zaharah." whispered Zaki.
The next morning after the children had left for school, Zaki and Zaharah spend the rest of the morning sitting by the garden porch. Zaki decides not to go to his office that day as he wanted to spend sometimes with Zaharah. While they were both were talking about their kids, suddenly Zaki took something out from his pocket pants and hand it to Zaharah. It was two cruise ticket to Malacca.
"Well we both have been spending too much time..with work..I guess it is time for us to chill out." cried Zaki. "It's about time we need to get to know more about each other without any other attachment." Zaharah remains quiet and stare at the tickets.
"Zaharah, I've book seperate rooms for us...at the hotel once we are at Malacca. So please do not worry about that." said Zaki with a smile.
Zaharah nodded. "Okay! Let's start packing up then." cried Zaharah as she stood up from the porch and grin. Yah Zaki got the point there...maybe it is about time...she needs to know more about Zaki..no more secrets!
Aden and Aleeya will be taken care by the nanny and Ana came back a week before Zaki and Zaharah headed for their cruise trip. It took them almost more than two hours before finally they both had reach their hotel. After they had their lunch, they both had decides to do their sight seeing...taking some pictures at the historical sights and some of the unique beauty of the town area. Zaharah begins to feel more ease and comfortable by Zaki's company cause he was so much like Adam in many ways...his humour, his charisma...his looks...but at times his arrogant side is still in him..that is his uniqueness. However despite all this brilliant treats...Zaharah still could never accept Zaki's love. After they had their dinner at the hotel cafe, Zaki and Zaharah decides to went back to their rooms to have their rest.
"It has been such a long time I've not seeing you laugh like this." exclaimed Zaki as he sent Zaharah towards her room.
"Thank you for doing this Zaki. I really appreciate it so much." replied Zaharah with a smile. Zaki reaches out his hand to caress her hair and her face. Zaharah looks straight into Zaki's eyes..and all she could see is Adam. She quickly drew her face away. "You need your rest now Zaki" utter Zaharah. Zaki pulls his hand away and nodded leaving Zaharah by the door as he enters his room at the other side of the lobby. Zaharah closed the door behind her and shut her eyes..holding back her tears from falling on her cheeks. She look at the clock on the wall..it was only seven in the evening. She had her quick shower and then she decides to walk along the beautiful bridge which can be seen from her room. The bridge had pass through several other shops and there's a river running at the bottom of it. Zaharah took her handbag and lock the door before she headed towards the elevator.
Zaharah walk along the bridge and saw so many people selling their goods along the bridge..very rare and unique stuff can be found there much to Zaharah's amazement. Suddenly something had caught her eyes...she slowly walks towards the unique painting display..which was neatly hung along the wooden frame on the small portion of the bridge. Zaharah phase and stared at every and each of the paintings...and then she saw the back of the artist and stood frooze on the ground. The painter realised that he was not alone and he turn to face her with a smile.
"May I help you miss?" that smile...that look..his hair..the beautiful eyes and that voice..was it him. Zaharah walk slowly towards the painter and stood close enough to him and he give that beautiful wondering stare which had really makes Zaharah almost cried. Zaharah reaches out her trembling hand to touch his face. The painter was surprised by her gesture and he just remain motionless. As Zaharah reaches out her hands to touch his face, suddenly she drew back her hands and ran as fast as she could without looking back. The painter was confused by her action and never let his eyes of her until she was out from his sight. He begins to frown hard and keeps pondering what was that all about.Tears falls on her face as she dashed towards the lobby and headed straight towards the elevator. As she step out of the lift then she saw Zaki was about to leave his room.
"Zaharah" called Zaki. Zaharah rushed towards Zaki arms and let him hold on to her trembling body. "Zaharah, what's wrong? What happened?" asked Zaki as he panics.
"I saw him...I saw Adam...he's here..he's alife." cried Zaharah in between sobs.
"Zaharah..maybe you were just thinking too much about him." said Zaki as he tries to calm her down.
"No it's true..it was him..I saw." cried Zaharah again. Zaki took her back into her room and let Zaharah speaks. After hearing upon this, Zaki request Zaharah to bring him along as he wanted to see this painter with his own eyes. Zaharah then brings Zaki towards the bridge again, headed back towards the mini- painting display shop and there he was sitting by his chair sketching something on his drawing blocks. Zaki slowly walk towards the painter while Zaharah stays behind. Zaharah was right...he does resembles Adam so much...as though Adam was just by his side.
"Good evening sir...please take a look at my humble paintings." said the painter as he stood up and welcoming Zaki to his humble spot.
"There are all magnificent." exclaimed Zaki as he tries to relax. "My name is Zaki. What's your?"
asked Zaki casually.
"I'm Rheyan.." replied the painter much to Zaki's dismay.
"Nice knowing you...where are you from?" asked Zaki again as he tries to probe more questions on this strange guy.
"I must have been here for almost five to six years now." replied Rheyan shortly. Zaki choose one of the paintings and bought it. "Thank you so much sir..please do come again." utter Rheyan as he took the money from Zaki's hand. Zaki nodded with a smile and then he left joining Zaharah back. "His name was Rheyan..I don't know but there's something strange about him." cried Zaki as they both headed back towards their hotel.
Zaharah was having a sleepless night. She sat on her bed and then she begins to dress up as she intend to see that painter again but this time from a distance. After passing through the bridge she stood by the corner of a sweet store and begins looking at Rheyan who was busy with his paintings.
"That's Rheyan. Nice chap...very polite and humble but he's kind of quiet and does not talk much." said the store owner. Zaharah turns to face the middle age lady and smile.
"What else do you know about him?" asked Zaharah with full of interest.
"Hmm...you must have crush of him now! Okay...he lives with this old man at that apartment on the third floor on your right. Get more details from him then." answered that lady with a grin. Zaharah blushed and smile. "Thanks for the tip..!" replied Zaharah as she bought few chocolates from her store. Zaharah looks at the tall apartment...and she was determined to know more about this strange man..Rheyan.
